WHAT’S FOR YOU- IS YOU !
Native Los Angeleno, Brittani Blackwell made way through the inner city challenges in sunny southern California. Her yoga journey began at the age of 19 being an understudy at a Black woman owned Dharma Yoga studio. While there she practiced diligently- being in class up to five days a week at times, diving deep into the physical practice of yoga, chanting, meditation and studying yogic philosophy. Four years into her yoga journey Brittani joined a 200hr yoga teacher certification and began teaching immediately after its completion.
Driven by her passion and enthusiasm, Brittani has seized every opportunity to share the teachings she learned. One main factor that makes Brittani’s experience with yoga and her teaching style unique is that she serves what is in the room. She does not impose a set agenda on her students but instead taps into the moment and allows what needs to be shared with that group to come forth. Her guidance is a slow intentional yoga practice that fuels the body for longevity while sharing insightful and empowering phrases.
She believes it is her life purpose to not only live well but to encourage others of the power within them to do the same despite any circumstance.
My timeline is my own..
I share my experience with yoga and life long wellbeing as I delve into it within my own practice. It has been a pleasure to work along side some great individuals, organizations and within a variety of communities. I have taught children in preschool, kids and teens in schools, my peers ages 20-40, elders and those with limited mobility. What I can say from this is that we all share a body, a mind and a heart. No matter the shape of the body. No matter the color of the skin. No matter the condition of the mind. When we breathe, when we connect to a deeper place within and when we open ourselves to the present moment we all transcend this 3D reality. We all become a bit more expansive, more compassionate, less tense and more like our truest selves. Witnessing the greatness of humanity through our shared journey of lifelong well being is what shows me we can be as one. Just as the trees provide us oxygen and we provide them carbon dioxide, the practice from teacher to student is symbiotically the same.
